Concertmaster, instructor and violinist who matriculated from Juilliard in the mid-‘70s and made her inaugural appearance in the Big Apple at Carnegie Recital Hall. (No pressure.) She eventually became a part of the coveted section of first violins with the L.A. Philharmonic, which she joined in 1978.

Rochelle has also performed extensively in an ensemble setting, appearing with Nouvelle, the Pacifica Quartet, the Sacramento String Quartet, the Sedona Chamber Music Society, and her very own Rochelle Abramson Ensemble.

The Abramson Ensemble made a couple of live appearances under the umbrella of the South Bay Chamber Music Society, Inc., on 18^th May 1984 and 20^th November 1992. Their repertoire had a distinctively Romantic flavour, ranging from the likes of Brahms and Rossini to modernists such as Halvorsen and Prokofiev.

As a concertmaster, she has kept in line the Carson Symphony, the San Juan Capistrano Symphony, and lately the Los Angeles Valley College Symphony. She has also performed similar duties at the Long Beach Bach Festival and the perennial summer concert series put on by the Peninsula Symphony.

Rochelle has also done a fair bit of session work. As early as 1977, during her pre-Philharmonic days, she appeared on Chet Baker’s You Can’t Go Home Again. A couple of years later, she had the honor of playing on Frank Sinatra’s boxed set, Trilogy. In 1999, she teamed up with Mannheim Steamroller on their Disney tribute album, Mannheim Steamroller Meets the Mouse. She even appears on a movie soundtrack, Rush Hour 2, scored by Lalo Schifrin.

In her copious free time, she conducts master classes at venues such as the College of the Canyons and The Pasadena Conversatory.
