     Alamo, Tony (1934-Present)

He was born Bernie Lazar Hoffman in Joplin, Missouri and is a controversial preacher, singer, entrepreneur and evangelist who became a religious cult leader.  He had a business that created sequined denim jackets but ended with him serving a jail sentence for tax evasion.   He married Edith Opal Horn, an actress using the name Susan Alamo, who died in 1982.  He took Alamo as a stage name for his singing career and had a syndicated TV program in the 1970s.
