Vocalist who
collaborated with Mario Lanza on The Great Caruso, dubbing the
singing voice for a boy soprano on the Bach-Gounod version of “Ave
Maria”. A recording
appears on the soundtrack, released on CD in 2002, and Be My Love: Mario Lanza’s Greatest Performances at MGM. It also features organist Wesley Tourtelotte along with the MGM Studio Orchestra and the
St. Luke’s Choristers.
Jacqueline was a member of the Jeff Alexander Choir around this
time. In 1954, she appeared as
a member of the chorus in the musical Athena,
singing “Love Can Change the Stars” with Betty Allen, Jane
Powell, Debbie Reynolds, Marie Vernon, and Gloria Wood. The recording appears on the
soundtrack of the film as well as an anthology entitled Hollywood’s Best: The Fifties, released in all its
compact-disc glory in 1997.
Jacqueline also collaborated with Harvey Mandel, appearing on his
1968 release, Cristo Redentor, and The
Mercury Years. In 1971, she
teamed up with Russ Giguere on Hexagram 16, and was one of many
gifted performers who appeared on Frank Sinatra’s 1979 boxed set, Trilogy. She was also the executive producer
of Lines & Space by Shades of
Brown.
