     Babbitt, Lois

    She is an alto, mezzo soprano and clarinettist who recorded with The Philadelphia Singers on the holiday recording Gloria! Gloria! in 1987.

     

    As a long-time member of the Ama Deus Ensemble since the 1990s, she has performed on the 1996 album Bach: Magnificat, the 1997 Vivaldi: Magnificat and was a chorus member on their live recording of Verdi’s Requiem in 2007.  The following year she appeared on the ensemble’s live recording of Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis.

     

    She also sings as a member of the Overbrook Quartet and The Overbrook Choir at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia..

     

    As a clarinettist she has been a member of the Upper Darby Sousa Band and was a musician at the debut concert of the Pennsylvania Symphonic Wind Band.
