He is a guitarist born in Decatur,
Georgia.In the 1960s he played with The Imperials, The Vons and Wayne Loguidice and the
Kommotions and was in the backing band of Mylon LeFevre
before becoming an original member of the Atlanta
Rhythm Section
in 1973.He left the group in 1985 but
returned in 1989 and is still a current member.He has
co-written several of their songs including "The
Ballad of Lois Malone" and "The
Great Escape
".He has also worked with American Diesel Machine,
Midnight Rainbows, Al Kooper, Joe South, Badger and Frankie Miller among
others.Over
the years he has appeared on at least 16 albums with the Atlanta
Rhythm Section
, including
their Back Up Against the Wall, The Boys from Doraville, Champagne Jam,
Eufaula and Underdog.
