    Banowetz, Joseph

    He is a classical pianist born in the United States.  He studied in New York City with Carl Friedberd who had been a pupil of Clara Schumann, and at the Vienna Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst.  The Austrian Government sent him on a European tour after graduation which began his professional career, and since then he as appeared North America, Europe and Asia.  He has recorded with the China Central Opera Orchestra of Beijing and the Hong Kong Philharmonic and was the first foreign artist to be invited by the Chinese Ministry of Culture to record and premiere Huang An-lun's "Piano Concerto, Op. 25b".  As a teacher he has given masterclasses worldwide.
