Bass singer,
clergyman and trumpeter who attended Haverford College and graduated in
1971 before becoming a teacher at St. Peter’s School in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. Two years later,
he furthered his education at Colgate Rochester Crozer
Divinity School and was ordained on 17th October 1976.
His first
assignment was at United Presbyterian Church in Sackets Harbor, New York,
and it turned out to be an eight-year engagement. He then moved on to the First
Presbyterian Church in Huevelton in 1985, before
becoming interim pastor at First Presbyterian in Potsdam. He became their full-time pastor in
1988 and remained with them for twelve years.
In the new
millennium, he served as pastor with the First Congregational Church in
Bennington, Vermont, where he made it a priority to e-mail fellow
Presbyterians who were serving in Iraq. On 9th February 2009, he
took on similar duties at The Collenbrook Church
in Pennsylvania.
Scott is a
talented musician, as well, and spends his copious free time performing
with The Philadelphia Singers.
He is also a member of The Tower Society and donates generously to
the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School,
Haverford College, and the State University of New York College in Oneonta.
