She is a singer, boutique owner and cosmetics
designer who is the sister of Eileen
"Snooky" Bellomo
. Her father is her sales manager and her mother was chairwoman
of the Department of Art Therapy at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. In the
early 1970s she was a member of The Stilettos with her sister and Debbie
Harry and after the group Blondie had been formed in 1974, she
and her sister sang back-up vocals at several gigs of theirs at CBGB
in New York under the name Blondie
& The
Banzai Babies. She and her
sister formed the band The Drop-Outs and in 1977 they were asked to be part
of the band Sic F*cks that was formed for one gig. Since then they have continue to perform
with this band once a year. She
has appeared as a backing vocalist on RuPaul's album RuPaul is Star
Booty. Also in 1977 she and her sister opened a boutique in New York that
concentrated on punk rock items and now they have their own brand of
accessories, hair colourings and make up called Manic Panic. Their designs are widely recognised and are worn by many
celebrities including Cyndi Lauper, Steve Tyler, Gwen Stefani, Debbie
Harry
, Dennis Rodman and many others. In 2002 she and her sister toured
the US with the drinks company, Snapple, in the Die Hard Snapple
Barbershop. As an actress she
has been seen as the "Manic Panic girl" in the 1981 New York Beat Movie.
