He is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, bass guitarist,
harmonica player, producer and actor born Clint Patrick Black in Long
Branch, New Jersey, and raised in Katy, Texas, with his three
brothers.Becoming interested in
music from an early age he taught himself to play the harmonica when he was
13 years old and would later follow that by becoming proficient on the
guitar and bass guitar.Deciding he wanted to venture into the music business, he left high
school and joined up as a member of his brother's band, which performed
gigs in Houston, Texas.At the
same time he began writing songs and after collaborating with Hayden
Nicholas he was signed to RCA Records by ZZ Top's manager Bill Ham in 1989.This was when he was catapulted
into stardom, with his first album, Killin' Time, making the top of
the album charts, that same album producing four No. 1 chart hits and
allowing him to steal the show at the 1989 CMA award ceremony. This was
just the beginning of what has turned out to be a very successful career to
date.He
released a second album with further hit singles and toured with the
group Alabama
before marrying
the actress Lisa Hartman.He
has since released many albums and singles, which have all seen success to
some degree or another, and his popularity in the 1990s was immense with
him being one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" in 1991 by
People Magazine.The 2000s
have been a quieter time for him but he has still managed to retain a chart
presence and leapt into the Top 5 again in a duet with Steve Wariner. He left RCA in the early 2000s
and in 2003 co-founded the Equity Music Group record label.Keeping up with modern times, he has also released the digital
Long Cool EP that has been made available for downloading.Recognised for his contribution to
music with his achievements of writing and releasing more than 100 singles
which includes 30 chart singles with at least 13 No. 1s, and nine studio albums,
he has been given his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.A small selection of albums he has
