     Bodnar, Nina

She is a violinist born in Santa Barbara, California.  She began studying music when her mother taught her the piano when she was four and she quickly progressed to the violin when she was six.  She studied in Los Angeles and then later in Switzerland.  She took part in many competitions and has been a successful winner of the Jacques Thibaud International Violin Competition and the National Coleman Chamber Music Competition.  After the launch of her career she appeared as a soloist with several international symphony orchestras as well as attaining the position of concertmaster of the Santa Barbara Symphony and Chamber Orchestras.  She went on to become a member of the Rossetti Quartet, concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and artist-in-residence at the city's Washington University.  As a teacher she has taught at "Strings in the Mountains" in Steamboat Strings, she has founded the Virtuoso Strings from young Santa Barbara string players and is a member of the faculty of the Santa Barbara Music and Arts Conservatory.
