Percussionist,
songwriter and vocalist from Trinidad and Tobago who performed with The
Trinidad Troubadours and got a taste of life in the U.S. when they toured
the Americas.
Some of the
artists and groups he has worked with include Bee Gees, James Brown, B.T.
Express, Natalie Cole, The Commodores, The Jackson 5, KC and the Sunshine
Band, The Manhattans, Bob Marley, and Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes.
He has also
been active with Bruce Hornsby and the Range and Spyro
Gyra.
At the end of the millennium, he and the rest of Bruce Hornsby’s
band recorded a live album, Here Come
the Noise Makers. Their
touring continued into the spring of 2001 when the band did a sweep of the
American Southeast.
In 2007, Bonny
joined Spyro Gyra in
time for their album, Good to Go-Go. He penned the third track, “Jam
Up”, and sang vocals on “Wassup!”
which featured long-time SG collaborator Julio Fernandez on guitar. Recently, he appeared on Spyro Gyra’s 2009
album, Down the Wire.
