who attended the Conservatory of Enschede, the
Maastricht Conservatory, and the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, as well
as spending a year in the Royal Netherlands Airforce
Band.

Holland Wind Players, National Youth Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth
Wind Band of Holland, the Netherlands Brass Ensemble, the Netherlands
Clarinet Choir, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic, the Netherlands
Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Musik Festival
Orchestra, Philharmonia Ungarica,
the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the RundfunkSymfonie
Orchester Berlin, the Schleswig-Holstein Music
Festival Orchester, and the Sinfonietta
Mainz Philharmonisches Orchester.
On 4th
July 1998, he was one of the featured soloists at the Burgkirche
Ingelheim with John Treleaven
and the Sinfonietta Mainz Philharmonisches
Orchester in a rendition of Benjamin Britten’s
“Serenade op.31 fur Tenor, Horn und Streichorchester”.
The
Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra and Groot Omroepkoor rang in the holidays on 21st
December 2002 with Roel van Oosten’s
“Quatre Noels Anciens”,
Arvo Part’s “Cantus in memory of
Benjamin Britten”, Alexandre Tansman’s oratorio, Isaie, le Prophete, and Ralph Vaughan
Williams’ “Fantasia on Christmas Carols”.
In February
2003, the Holland Wind Players were special guests of the Fond du Lac Concert Association in a
brief tour that included a master class, performance, and a little bit of
local night life.
Eric is an
avid runner and on 6th April 2003, he helped the Netherlands Radio
Symphony Orchestra to an 8th-place finish in the CityRun Hilversum.

On 9th
November 2007, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic performed flute
concerti by Jacques Ibert and by Lennox Berkeley
and Francis Poulenc, “Symfonie in C”
by Igor Stravinsky, and “Sinfonietta”
by Eric Tanguy.
They offered
up Franz Joseph Haydn’s symphonies nos. 82 and 85 and Jacques
Offenbach’s overture from La fille du tambour-major in 23rd November
2007.
On 5th
December 2008, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic presented Ludwig
van Beethoven’s “Symfonie nr. 8 in F
op. 93”, Claude Debussy’s “Children’s corner”,
Antonin Dvorak’s “Romance voor viool en orkest op. 11”, and Bohuslav
Martinu’s “Dubbelconcert
voor piano, slag-werk
en strijkers, H. 271”.
They
interpreted Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Derde
orkestsuite in D BWV 1068”, Joonas Kokkonen’s “…durch einen Spiegel…”, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Pianoconcert nr. 24 KV 491” and Olli Mustonen’s “Tripelconcert
voor drie violen en orkest” on 20th
December 2008.
On 23rd
April 2010, they paired Jean Sibelius’s “Vioolconcert
in d opus 47” with Fraser Trainer’s “Gadget, voor kwintet, orkest en jeugensemble”.
They teamed up
with Groot Omroepkoor
on 10th September 2010 in an all-Brahms affair that included the
master’s “Akademische Festouverture”, “Altrapsodie”,
“Gesang der Parzen”, “Schicksalslied”
“Variaties over een
thema van Joseph Haydn”, und “Warum ist das Licht gegeben”.
