Session vocalist who was a member of The Bill
Bates Singers, along with Sue
Allen and
Loulie Jean Norman , on The Paul Desmond
Quintet's 1954 release, Desmond. Around the same time, he was also recording
with The Easy Riders on tracks that would eventually wind up on their
album, Marianne. At the end of this period, in 1962,
he whooped it up with the Cartwright boys on Bonanza: A Ponderosa
Party. In the 1970s, he
continued to record on an eclectic mix of material, including prog-rock band Triumvirat's
A la Carte and Frank
Sinatra's
boxed set, Trilogy. Bill Brown is also credited with
backing vocals on Dumonde's Decade, Jacob Magnusson's Jack Magnet, and That Old Black Magic: The Harold Arlen Songbook.
