He is a saxophonist born in Liverpool, England, who
began playing the saxophone while serving time in the British Army.He became a member of the band The
Hy-Tones after leaving service, that were named after the Huyton area where
they lived.He formed the
group Howie Casey & The Seniors who would become well known in the
Liverpool area and appeared with Gene Vincent in a show in 1960 where they
were seen by Larry Parnes who looked after artists such as Billy Fury and Johnny
Gentle.It is now that he
turned professional and The Seniors appeared in a season in Hamburg and on
their return became the first Liverpool group to record, making several
recordings for the Fontana label. In 1962 The Seniors disbanded and he
performed with Kingsize Taylor & The Dominoes before becoming an acclaimed
session musician.During
his career he has toured twice with the band Wings
, as well as appearing on five
of their albums, and performed with groups that include The Who, Mott the
Hoople and T. Rex.He
currently appears as a soloist, a member of various ensembles and a band
called The All Stars.
