Alto and
mezzo-soprano from South Africa who attended Goldey
Beacom College from 1999 to 2002 and graduated
with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing.
One of her
other interests is music, and from 1998 to 2006, she sang in the choir at Trinity
Episcopal Church. In 2003, she
performed the role of Sally Bowles in a Best of Broadway production of Cabaret at The Bank One Arts Center
in Wilmington, Delaware. She
returned to her home country in 2004 as a featured soloist in a performance
of Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah
oratorio at The Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg.
In 2005, she
sang “Habanera” from George Bizet’s Carmen at the Mario Lanza Institute
Pre-Ball and graduated to the anniversary ball in 2006, singing everything
from Rodgers & Hammerstein to Camille Saint-Saens at the Church of the
Holy Trinity in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She performed a similar program in
January 2007 on a tour with Beatrice Lin that included stops in Singapore
and Tokyo, Japan.
She is also a
member of The Philadelphia Singers, the chorus-in-residence of The Philadelphia
Orchestra.
