Guitarist,
producer and songwriter from Rochester, New York, who was an early member
of Spyro Gyra and
appeared on their first seven albums.
He also penned a handful of their hits, including “Café
Amore”, “It Doesn’t Matter”, and “Lovin’ You”.
In the 1980s,
he left the band and started his own outfit called Chet Catallo
and The Cats. They are best
known for playing live shows, especially around the holidays.
Chet also has
his own production house, Chet Catallo
Productions, which has been in operation since 1993. It allows him to do some studio work
while keeping a foot in the door at local venues such as the Merchants
Grill and Water Street Music Hall.
