    Chawluk, Agnes

    Violist from France who emigrated to the United States in 1976.  She studied with Kim Kashkashian, Geoffrey Michaels, Karen Tuttle, and Emanuel Vardi. 

     

    She appeared on New Music Live with the Relache Ensemble and the Christmas album, Gloria!  Gloria!, with the Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, in 1987.

     

    On 17th December 1990, she conducted approximately thirty Suzuki violinists ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade at the American Bus Association Marketplace in Niagara Falls, New York.  She also participated in the 46th Annual Vermont Music and Arts Center at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont.  On 28th August 1998, she performed with the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra in their Valley Vivaldi series at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  It was back to Vermont in July 2000 for another round of concerts, master classes, and seminars.

     

    Agnes has served as Principal violist for the York Symphony and Schuylkill Symphony and has been a member of the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble, the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra, and the Reading Symphony. 

     

    She has also toured with New York City National Opera Company and is an instructor for Pennsylvania’s public schools.
