He is an oboist, English horn player, teacher/clinician
who studied at the Eastman School of Music and the New England
Conservatory. He has since received many fellowships to attend various music
institutes and festivals.
As a professional musician he has performed as a
soloist and ensemble member with several orchestras that include The Eastman
Wind Ensemble, The Harrisburg Symphony, The Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus
and Riverside Symphonia and he was Principal Oboist for the Concerto
Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
He currently performs as the Second Oboe and English
horn with the Virginia Symphony, who he debuted with in 1999, and was their
representative as a member of the international ensemble in residence at
the Santo Domingo Music Festival.
He is also a founding member of the Philadelphia ensemble
ChamberWorks, which have premiered many works by local composers.
His work as a clinician/teacher has seen him working
at many seminars and workshops and at educational establishments such as
Lehigh University, the Kinhaven Music School and the Moravian College and
Music Insitute. Most recently he has been a faculty member of the Governor’s
School of the Arts and Old Dominion University’s Community Education
Department. He is the creator
of the camp for student oboists known as Oboe Holiday 2006, which continued
as Oboe Holiday 2007.
