He is an Englishbaritone who began singing in the choir of Westminster Abbey were he
served as Head Chorister and sang a solo at the wedding of HRH Prince
Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.He
accepted a choral scholarship at Trinity College, Cambridge and co-founded
and directed a male voice ensemble named Henry's Eight who he toured
with and recorded music of the Flemish Renaissance.From 1996 until 2004 he was a
member of the King's
Singers
and gave over 900 performances with them.In that time he also made several
recordings and received a Grammy Nomination.He has worked in collaboration with
artists that included Evelyn Glennie, George Shearing and Bruce
Johnston
.In 2002 he and the poet laureate,
Andrew Motion, arranged a jubilee concert in the Royal Albert Hall
which featured seven new works by British composers and poets and
all were performed by the King's
Singers
.After he left the group he gave
choral workshops in the USA
and worked with the Harlem Boys Choir, a festival of 10 Dallas
choirs, and he also prepared New Jersey
ensembles for a performance for Bill Clinton.He has been part of the Ensemble in
Residence at the Royal College of Music and regularly coaches across Europe.He is also a teacher at DePauwUniversity in Indiana.
