First
tenor/lead tenor who was a member of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes
from 1974 to 1977. His debut
with the group was their 1974 release, To Be True. He left the group in 1977 and was
supplanted by Dwight Johnson.
In 1978, he issued a solo single, “All I Do is Think of You”,
backed with “It’s My Pleasure”. Albums on which he can be heard
include The Essential Harold Melvin
& The Blue Notes Featuring Teddy Pendergrass, If You Don’t Know Me By Now: The Best of Harold Melvin & The Blue
Notes, and Love Train: The Sound of Philadelphia. He has since become an ordained
minister, and was featured in Bill Maher’s 2008 documentary film, Religulous.
