He is a singer born in England who was a baritone for
the choirs at the Kings and Trinity Colleges, Cambridge before moving to
the Royal Academy of Music in London on a scholarship and becoming a tenor.
He has appeared as a soloist singing works such as Bach's Coffee Cantata,
Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, Verdi's Requiem, drinking songs
by Henry Purcell and other solos he has performed are pieces by the
composers Lully and Dumont. As a tenor singing with opera
companies and several ensembles such as the Martin
Best Consort
, the Tallis Scholars, the Cambridge Singers and the
University Chamber Choir of Edinburgh, he has performed parts such as Count
Almaviva by Rossini, the title role in Zampa by Herold, Sandy in The Lighthouse by
Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and in the cast of Tamino by Mozart. Making several recordings he has
appeared on Forgotten Provence with the Martin
Best Consort , Hunt
Cantata with the Parley of Instruments, Fancies and Banquet
of Voices by The Cambridge Singers, Christmas Carols and Motets
by The Tallis Scholars, Christmas Collection and Festive Baroque
Christmas by the Academy of Ancient Music, the soundtrack of The
Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover and in the opera production
of Cheryomushki by Shostakovich.
