He is an oboist and teacher born in the United States of America who took his further studies at Boston University and the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.

His talents were recognised when he received prizes at the Tanglewood Music Center in both 1972 and 1973. He became a member of the United States Air Force and was the Principal Oboe in their Symphony Orchestra and Woodwind Quintet and gave many concerts with them all over America.

In 1979 he took up a position with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and was a member until his semi-retirement in 2005.

Throughout the course of his career he has worked and toured with many other orchestras and ensembles which include the Boston Symphony Orchestra, being principal oboe for the Canadian Chamber Ensemble, the CBC Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Oklahoma Symphony.

His recordings are many, but a few of them include Bach: Brandenburg Concertos by the CBC Orchestra, Anne of Green Gables bv Hagood Hardy, Adeste Fidelis by Gino & Louis Quillico, Judy Loman and the Toronto Symphony & Children’ Chorus, Rebecca Timmons by Rebecca Timmons, and Dancing Day by the Toronto Children’s Chorus.

In the field of musical education he has taught at the Coutenay Music Festival and been a member of the faculties of The Royal Conservatory of Music, the University of Toronto, the University of Oklahoma and Wilfred Laurier University.

He currently resides in Breslau, Ontario, where he has a small farm with his partner Nina Brickman who is a French horn player and Musician-in-Residence at Wilfred Laurier University.
