He is a drummer and
singer-songwriter who began in the entertainment business by becoming
involved in stage acting.
He became a founding member of the 5-time Grammy Award
nominated band Ambrosia in 1971 and also co-wrote several of their
songs. He was with the band
until they split in 1983 and then rejoined them when they reformed in 1989.
Still working with Ambrosia, he also became the drummer
for the group Lost Dogs. He performed
on several of their albums before forming the production company and project/group
called Tin Drum with his wife, the singer-songwriter Mary Harris, in 1994.
They have since worked and released three albums with many other
collaborating artists.
Throughout the course of his career he has worked with
a myriad of acts and a few of these include Patti Austin, Hank Ballard, Jimmy
Buffett, Stanley Clarke, Andrae Crouch, Bruce Hornsby, Pink Floyd, Player, Chris
Rea, Trefethen and XTC.
The albums he has worked on in
one way or another include Life Beyond L.A., One Eighty and Somewhere
I’ve Never Travelled by Ambrosia, Little Red Riding Hood by Lost
Dogs, Voice of Michael McDonald by Michael McDonald, Anywhere You
Go by David Pack, Tales of Mystery and Imagination by The Alan
Parsons Project, Real World and Small Parade with Tin Drum
and the soundtrack of Coast to Coast and Moondance Alexander to
name just a few of many.
He to continues tour and
record with Ambrosia while alongside his work with Tin Drum.
