Violinist who started playing at six years of age and studied with Hugh Bean, Rodney Friend, and John Ludlow. She attended the Royal College of Music and upon graduation joined the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

In 1987, she became a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra, and went on to appear on a handful of albums, such as The Big Country, Lawrence of Arabia, Les Miserables: The Complete Symphonic Recording, and the soundtrack of the Zentropa film, 1:1.

The Philharmonia Orchestra offered up a symphonic double-header on 18^th September 2002, Antonin Dvorak’s “Ottava Sinfonia in sol maggiore op. 88” followed by Johannes Brahms’ “Quarta Sinfonia in mi minore op. 98”.

On 23^rd April 2005, they joined forces with pianist Emanuel Ax and soprano Angela Denoke at Royal Festival Hall for Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat Op. 73” (“Emperor”), Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra, and the “Prelude and Liebestod” from Richard Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde.

They performed Gustav Mahler’s “Sinfonie Nr. 9 D-Dur” and Arnold Schoenberg’s “Konzert fur Klavier und Orchester op. 42”, with Mitsuko Uchida at the keys, on 13^th March 2009.

On 12^th September 2010, they presented “Il mandarino meravigliso, suite da concerto op. 19” by Bela Bartok, “Symphonie Fantastique op. 14” by Hector Berlioz, and “Una notte sul Monte Calvo” by Modest Mussorgsky.

They paired the “Lemminkainen Suite” of Jean Sibelius with Le Sacre du Printemps by Igor Stravinsky on 13^th September 2010.

On 11^th January 2011, they played Bela Bartok’s “Musica para cordas, percussao e celestra, Sz 106”, Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero” and “Ma mere l’Oye (suite)”, and Maestro Esa-Pekka Salonen’s “Concerto para Violino e Orquesta”.

They teamed up with Sergey Khachatryan for Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Concierto para violin no. 1 en La m, Op. 77” and backed it up with Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Sinfonia en Si m, Op. 58” (“Manfred”) on 4^th February 2011.
