He is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from New
York who formed a partnership with James Williams
while still at high school in Brooklyn in the late
1970s and they became D-Train who had successful hits including "You're
the One for Me" and "Music".They disbanded in 1985.From
1978-1980 he was also part of the group Mtume .He has
worked with many artists in varying capacities including Whitney
Houston, Luther
Vandross
and Aretha
Franklin.He acted as a
backing vocalist and also released 3 R&B chart hits in the late 1980s.
