    Fataar, Ricky (5th September 1952-Present)

He is a drummer born in Durban, South Africa.  He started playing music with his older brothers when he was 9 years old.  He was formerly part of The Flames along with Blondie Chaplin .  They moved from South Africa to London and then to Los Angeles where they made an album for The Beach Boy's record label, Brother, in 1970. He became a drummer for the Beach Boys and was with them from 1972 until 1976.  After a request by Eric Idle he starred in The Rutles: All You Need is Cash where he played Stig O'Hara, the band's guitarist ("the quiet one") which appeared on Saturday Night Live.  He was a member of Bonny Raitt's backup band.  He emigrated to Australia where he played on and co-produced albums with Tim Finn for Crowded House.  He has also worked with many artists as a drummer as well as producing music for many TV and film scores including The Coca Cola Kid and High Tide .
