    Fink, Katherine

    She is a flautist who studied at the Eastman School of Music and the State University of New York and has performed as an orchestral and chamber musician and recitalist in Northeast America and given several solo performances during her career to date.

     

    Her work as a professional flautist has seen her perform with numerous orchestras and ensembles such as the American Symphony, Borealis Wind Quintet, the Bronx Arts Ensemble, Claring Chamber Players, Colonial Symphony, the Lincoln Center Chamber Music ensembles, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the New Jersey Symphony, the New York Chamber Symphony, the Philharmonia Virtuosi and the Stamford Symphony.

     

    She has also held the position of Principal Flute with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the EOS Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, the New York Pops, the New York Virtuosi and Queens Symphony.

     

    Working in music for TV, stage and radio she has been a member of the orchestra for “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway and played on several soundtracks and jingles.  She has also toured with Andrea Bocelli.

     

    During the course of her career she has played on numerous recordings by several of the orchestras mentioned above, as well as her own Flute Music of Robert Baksa and Duets II by Tony Bennett, Carlos Surinach by the Bronx Arts Ensemble, Leigh: Man of La Mancha by Placido Domingo, Music for Merce by the Eos Ensemble, Baroque Duets by Richard Kapp, Duets: Friends and Legends by Anne Murray, Elaine Paige and Friends by Elaine Paige, The Album Collection by Amy Winehouse, the compilation Reel Life.

     

    In the field of musical education she has been a teacher at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland and a member of the faculty of New Jersey City University.  She has also been a member of the New York Flute Club’s board of directors.
