She is an oboist and English horn player who took her musical
degree studies at Boston University and received a Fulbright Scholarship to
continue her education in Germany.
A busy soloist and orchestral musician she has
performed with the Pablo Casals’ Puerto Rico Festival Orchestra, Cologne Opera
Orchestra, the Lima, Peru Symphony, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and
the Springfield, Massachusetts Symphony.
Very active in Philadelphia and the surrounding area,
she has worked with many of the local orchestras and ensembles such as
Orchestra 2001 (where her husband James Freeman is Music Director), the
Penn Contemporary Players and more recently she been an English horn
soloist with the Opera Company of Philadelphia Orchestra and Peter Nero
& The Philly Pops, has been a member of Philadelphia’s Mozart Society
Orchestra and been seen regularly with the Concerto Soloists Chamber
Orchestra of Philadelphia.
He has had several works written for her by composers
that include Gerald Levinson, Robert Morgan, Arne Running and Thomas
Whitman.
No stranger to the recording studio she has performed
on CDs such as Night of the Four Moons and Orchestra 2001, Volumes
4 & 5 by Orchestra 2001 and Gloria! Gloria! By Benita
Valente, The Philadelphia Singers and the Concerto Soloists Chamber
Orchestra of Philadelphia.
