    Friedrich, Reinhold (1958-Present)

He is a trumpeter born in Germany.  His father and his uncle both played the trombone and he began to play the trumpet when he was seven.  He studied with Heinz Burum, Adolph Weresch and Edward Tarr before moving to Paris to be taught by Pierre Thibaud.  In 1986 he won the Munich Competition and has gone on to have a successful career making several acclaimed recordings and touring throughout Europe.  He was a soloist for the Radio-Sinfonie Orchester Frankfurt and has given concerts as a solo musician with orchestras that include Bamberger Symphoniker, La Stagione Frankfurt , Orchestre Philharmonique de France and Deusches Symphonie Orchester Berlin.  He has a great interest in historical instruments such as the baroque and keyed trumpet, and was only the third person to make a recording with a copy of a trumpet originally used in 1800 by Weidinger.
