He is a trumpeter born in Germany.His father and his uncle both played
the trombone and he began to play the trumpet when he was seven.He studied with Heinz Burum, Adolph Weresch and
Edward Tarr before moving to Paris
to be taught by Pierre Thibaud.In 1986 he won the Munich
Competition and has gone on to have a successful career making several
acclaimed recordings and touring throughout Europe.He was
a soloist for the Radio-Sinfonie Orchester Frankfurt and has given
concerts as a solo musician with orchestras that include Bamberger
Symphoniker, La
Stagione Frankfurt
, Orchestre Philharmonique de France and Deusches
Symphonie Orchester Berlin.He has a great interest in
historical instruments such as the baroque and keyed trumpet, and was only
the third person to make a recording with a copy of a trumpet originally
used in 1800 by Weidinger.
