    Frost, Craig

Grand Funk Railroad dropped "Railroad" and added Frost in time for their Todd Rundgren-produced We're An American Band, a poppier album than their previous, with Frost providing Mysterians-like keyboards on the title track.  The group scored a #1 hit with their now-famous cover version of Little Eva's "The Loco-Motion".  Four years later, the band split, although three of their number, including Frost, Don Brewer , and Mel Schacher, went on to comprise Flint, a power trio with one self-titled album to their credit.  Frost continued trying to put together a band with Brewer and Terry Stafford, but it fell through.  In 1980, he joined Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band and has been a member ever since.  He appears on Nine Tonight, The Distance, Like a Rock, and The Fire Inside.  He co-wrote a few of the songs from this period, including "The Aftermath", "Hands in the Air", "Lock and Load", and "Tight Rope".  As recently as 2007, he was back on tour with The Silver Bullet Band in support of the album Face the Promise.  He also made a long-awaited re-appearance with the newly vamped Grand Funk.  In 2004, he performed with Bob Seger at his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
