He was born in Cornwall,
England but moved to Kent
after his father left the Navy and became a professor. He started singing as a chorister in
Rochester Cathedral and then as a musical scholar in Uppingham
School. He became a choral
scholar at St.
John's College,
Cambridge, singing with the Collegium
Regale and occasionally directing the ensemble The Gentlemen of St. John's. He received a Law Degree and
attended Law School
in Oxford and qualified as a
Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 2003. During this time he sang with the
Christ Church Cathedral Choir and while working in London,
at the Temple Church. He
became the second baritone of the King's
Singers
in 2004.
