Another of Jimmy
Buffett's pseudonyms/fictional characters who was named after a
place on a version of the Monopoly board-game as an original
imaginary member of the first Coral
Reefer Band with Kitty
Litter, Kay Pasa
and Al
Vacado
. Being brought to fame as a
songwriter he was credited with writing "Why Don't We Get Drunk (and
Screw)" and "A Love Song (With a Different Point of View)", which
perhaps took the heat off Jimmy
Buffett
from his somewhat controversial lyrics. In 1989 though it was decided that
Marvin had his day and a tribute and obituary was sent out to various
papers, which led to it being published in the Sarasota Herald Tribune. Listed
as playing the maracas and beer cans, his name appears as a member
of the Coral Reefer Band on Jimmy
Buffett's
A White Sport
Coat and a Pink Crustacean.
