Gijsen, Marulka Violinist who attended the Rotterdam Conservatory and took her final classical music exams on 24^th June 1999. She has spent at least ten years as the concertmaster of the Bel Canto Festival Opera Orchestra. Other groups with whom she has performed include the Baileo String Ensemble, the Klezmer Ensemble Nigunium, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic, and the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2006, the Baileo String Ensemble joined forces with Trio Louis van Dijk for Mostly Mozart: Live in Concert. They also offered up accompaniment on Joke Bruijs’s yuletide album, …When Christmas Time is Near… Marulka’s other credits comprise Blue Christmas by Madeline Bell, That’s Amore by Bryant Oleander, and Colors of Jazz by Katelijn van Otterloo. If you are a gamer, you may even have heard her playing in the orchestra on Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games.
