    Glassmeyer, Steve (1950 – Present)

    Arranger, multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter who has been a member of the Kansas City Blues Band and Turning Point, which became Kenny Rogers’ backing band.  Instruments in his arsenal include flute, guitar, keyboards, mandolin and saxophone.


    Kenny and Steve co-wrote several songs together, including “As Good is My Witness” (with Warren Hartman), “Love or Something Like It” and “Starting Again”.  Kenny, Steve and Warren also co-wrote a musical with Kelly Junkerman entitled The Toy Shoppe.  “Love or Something Like It” was a #1 hit for Kenny on the country chart in 1978:  It also reached #12 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.


    Notable live appearances included a 1977 concert with Kenny at Van Wezel in Sarasota, Florida, a 1984 concert with Chuck Jacobs in Michigan where they performed (and juggled!) “Home Grown Tomatoes” and a 2012 benefit concert for Marshall Law at the Red Rooster in Nashville, Tennessee.  The benefit concert, where he performed with Wood Newton, also included the talents of Etta Britt, Lucas Ciliberti, Linda Davis, Chris Gantry, Michael Peterson, Poobah and Billy Swan.
