    Golovchin, Igor (1956-Present)

He is an orchestral conductor born in Russia and studying at the Moscow Conservatory under Kiril Kondrashin.  He won the First Award at the International Conducting Competition of Herbert von Karajan and was offered a place in his orchestra to improve his skills, although not allowed  due to the Soviet authorities not giving him an extension to stay abroad.  He has conducted the Moscow Symphony Orchestra , the Bolshoi and Russian State Symphonie and from 1996 he was the music director of the Moscow State Radio and TV Symphony Orchestra.  As a guest conductor he has worked with orchestras throughout Europe.
