He is a tenor, organist and director born in Warner Robins,
Georgia who took studies in the harpsichord, organ and piano at the University
of Alaska-Fairbanks and the University of Georgia. He was a member of several of the
ensembles headed by Robert Shaw, such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Chorus and Robert Shaw Chamber Singers, and was one of the singers that appeared
at the Summer Olympics of 1996 who backed Gladys Knight in the opening
ceremony. He is the organist
and a Director of Music at the Presbyterian Church of Athens, Georgia, and
was the tour guide with Doris Granum on a 2006 Mini-Tour in Southwest
Georgia. As a director and
teacher he worked in the music program in Tuckston Church in Athens during
the 1970s, has taught in an Eskimo village, been an interim conductor at
the University of Georgia’s Glee Club and Athens Choral Society and in 2003
was an interim director of the Georgia Children’s Chorus taking over the
position from Doris Granum. In
recognition for his contribution to music the American Guild of Organists
has honoured him as a “Colleague”.
