She is a soprano singer sometimes credited as "Jolie" who
studied at the Mannes College of Music and then took further studies at the
Royal Conservatory in The Hague after receiving a Beebe Fellowship. She sang and recorded with the Robert
Shaw Chamber Singers
during the 1990s as well as appearing on the 1996
album The Music of Frank Wigglesworth. In the 2000s she appeared on the 2001 recording Treasure
of Inestimable Value by the Choir of the Church of St. Agnes and she
became a member of The Tiffany Consort, recording the Grammy nominated album
O Magnum Mysterium in 2004 and In Sure and Certain Hope in
2006. 2005 was another busy
year for her and was when she debuted at Carnegie Hall in Trauer Ode
by Johann Sebastian Bach. Called "a golden soprano" by the New York Times, she has been
a soloist in a multitude of roles in productions written by many
acclaimed composers such as Buxtehude, Handel
, Montiverdi, Mozart, Purcell, Praetorius, Rameau, and Vivaldi
and she specialises in J.S. Bach having given nearly 100 performances of
his motets and cantatas. She
has also appeared with numerous ensembles such as the Folger Consort, the
New York Collegium, the Phoenix Symphony, the Trinity Consort and the Vox
Vocal Ensemble to name just a few.
She is the co-founder of the ensemble AsproDolce who have premiered From
Earth to Heaven by Nicholas White, appeared in American cities such as Denver
and New York, toured Costa Rica and released their debut album Songs of
Love & Loss in 2008.
