Multi-instrumentalist
and teacher who has managed and performed with the Pasadena Symphony as
well as doing consulting work with the L.A. Philharmonic Education
Department.
In fact, much
of her adult life has been devoted to music education. She has taught at Poughkeepsie Day
School, Sequoyah School, Walden School, and the Waverly School in Pasadena,
California.
She also
offers private lessons in guitar, piano, recorder, and violin. She has won the Los Angeles Opera
Curriculum Contest twice and the MENC/NAMN Guitar Teaching Seminar Contest
once, and has been a member of the Pasadena Arts Council and American
String Teachers Association.
Her own
education was in the hallowed halls of the Eastman School of Music in
Rochester, New York, where she studied Violin Performance.
She went on to
join the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, where she stayed for sixteen years,
and also performed with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Los Angeles
Mozart Orchestra. Recently, she
has occupied the First Violinist chair with the Burbank Philharmonic
Orchestra.
She’s
also done her fair share of session work, recording with Emile &
Emilio, Barry Manilow, Graham Nash, Thom Pace,
Isabel Pantoja, John Schlenck,
and Frank Sinatra. You can also
celebrate the holidays with her on Hollywood
Christmas.
In her copious
free time, she supports the Pasadena Audubon Society.
