    Hamelink, Yvonne (1971 – Present)

    Violinist from Waalre who studied under Ron Ephrat, Kati Sebastyen, Benzion Shamir, and Emmy Verhey. 

     

    Groups with whom she has worked include:  the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra; the Brabant Orchestra; Chamber Orchestra Musica Ducis; Ensemble ViaCollis; the Isis String Quartet; the Metropole Orchestra; the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra; the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra; the North Holland Philharmonic Orchestra; the Rotterdam Chamber Orchestra; and, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.

     

    In 1996, she helped christen the Fontys Dance Academy’s new venue at Tilburg in a performance of Fred Kallemein’s Kalte Platte.

     

    She was one of two featured violinists in a pair of concerts at N.H. Kerk in Cothen and Pieterskerk in Utrecht, in tandem with Vocaal Ensemble Multiple Voice, in January 1999.  The program interspersed Bela Bartok’s “44 Duo’s voor twee violen” with Leos Janacek’sGraduale Suscepimus” and “Kacena divoka”, Zoltan Kodaly’sJezus es a kufarok” and “Matrai kepek”, Arvo Part’s “Summa” and Magnificat, and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Vespers, Op. 27.

     

    In July 2006, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra joined forces with Branford Marsalis for a classical music concert at the North Sea Jazz Festival, where the actor-composer-producer-saxophonist was serving as an artist-in-residence.

     

    Ensemble ViaCollis performed a chapel concert on 18th September 2010 that comprised “Conversations” by Arthur Bliss, a divertimento and flute quartet by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Inventions” by Gordon Jacob, and “Strijktrio” by Franz Schubert.

     

    Yvonne was also in the orchestra pit for the scenic world premiere of Karel GoeyvaertsAquarius.
