    Hardenberger, Hakan (Hokan)

He is a virtuoso trumpeter and teacher born in Malmo, Sweden.  He started his musical studies in Malmo when he was eight and attended the Paris Conservatoire, where he was taught by Pierre Thibaud, and then Los Angeles where his teacher was Thomas Stevens.  His career has led him to be described as the "greatest trumpeter on earth" by the Times newspaper and he is a champion of new works for trumpet. Performing with major international orchestras he as appeared with the Lois Angeles, Vienna, Royal Stockholm and London Philharmonics, and the London and NHK Symphony Orchestras, and the Philharmonia among many others, as well as making guest appearances at music festivals and the BBC Proms.  As a teacher he is a professor at the Malmo Conservatoire and a Fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England.
