Hitchcock, Russell Charles (15th June 1943-Present)

He was born in Melbourne, Australia and is the lead vocalist for the band Air Supply.  Growing up he was heavily influenced by The Beatles as was his music partner Graham Russell.  He was singing in a band by the time he was twenty but he gave it up, got married and worked in a department store.  He met Graham Russell in May 1975 when they appeared together in the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar and in April 1976 they formed Air Supply. After touring with Rod Stewart he returned to Australia and sang commercials for Maxwell House, American Express and Coke as well as being a back up vocalist and gopher for various bands until Air Supply found further success.

In the late 1980s he released a self-titled album and since his start with Air Supply he has appeared on countless album with them.  He has also performed with Air Supply on Remember Me by The Celtic Tenors when they covered “All Out of Love”.
