He was born in Melbourne,
Australia and is the
lead vocalist for the band Air Supply.Growing up he was heavily influenced by The Beatles as
was his music partner Graham Russell.He was singing in a band by the time he was twenty but he gave it
up, got married and worked in a department store.He met Graham Russell in May 1975 when they appeared
together in the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar and in
April 1976 they formed Air Supply. After touring with Rod Stewart he
returned to Australia
and sang commercials for Maxwell House, American Express and Coke as well
as being a back up vocalist and gopher for various bands until Air Supply
found further success.In the
late 1980s he released a self-titled album.
