     Howard, Brie

She is a drummer, percussionist, vocalist and actress born Brie Berry who has been known by the names Brie Brandt, Brie Howard and Brie Howard Darling, who became a member of the band Wild Honey around 1965.  Having left the band for a period to have a baby, her daughter is the actress Brandi Brandt, she came back as their drummer after they had evolved into the successful and first all-female rock-group Fanny.  They signed to Casablanca Records and released what would be their fifth album, their third had been recorded at Abbey Road Studio in London in 1972 with a cover of The Beatles "Hey Bulldog" and the fourth in 1973 was produced by Todd Rundgren.  They also changed their image where they would now wear short skirts and corsets.  She left the band again after the album release to get married to the composer James Newton Howard and accompany him on drums on his 1974 solo album James Newton Howard, and after the group disbanded she returned for a re-union tour in 1975.   In the 1980s she was a member of American Girls but after they disbanded she turned to modelling and acting and has since appeared in the movies Android, Tapeheads and The Running Kind among others.  After having got divorced in the mid-1980s she was a member of the group Boxing Gandhis as Brie Darling with her new husband.   She has appeared with Jimmy Buffett on several albums throughout the years including Son of a Son of a Sailor, Havana Daydreamin', Feeding Frenzy and Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads and also Melissa, Help is on the Way and Singin' by Melissa Manchester, Best of Both Worlds and Live at the Apollo by Robert Palmer, Rock 'n' Roll Survivors by Fanny, Heat for the Feets by Lee Garrett, Ringo the 4th by Ringo Starr, the soundtrack of Arachnophobia and many more.
