    Johnson, Davida

Concertmaster and violinist who worked with Paul Sabu on his own album Sabu as well as the one he produced for Ann-Margret, titled…well, Ann-Margret.  It was a disco affair released in 1980 and Paul lovingly dubbed his six-musician string ensemble “Davida’s Gang”.  He also lovingly dubbed them over and over in the production booth, creating a fuller sound.  Davida also lent her violin-playing skills to Celine Dion’s self-titled debut, Smokey Robinson’s Double Good Everything, Frank Sinatra’s Trilogy, and The Legacy of Phyllis Hyman.
