Jones and started out in the horn section of the Munich Philharmonic. He became a member of the London
Philharmonic in 1984 and principal horn of the London Symphony Orchestra in
1986. In 1999, he participated
in the British Horn Festival, in spite of an injured right hand.
penned “Canticle to the Sun”, a French horn concerto, for
Timothy, who recorded it with JoAnn Falletta and the LSO in 2006. It was released on 1st January
2008. On 29th and 30th
April 2008, Timothy gave its concert premiere with the Hartford Symphony
Orchestra in Bushnell

of music education, he has been a guest artist at the University
of Colorado in Boulder and served on the faculties of
the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music and the Royal College of Music.
