    Kaiser, Paul (1973-Present)

    He is an oboist and teacher born in Vienna, Austria who was award musical scholarships and was a student at Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts.

     

    Although still undertaking his studies he was given a position with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1999, where he holds the title of Principal Oboe.

     

    During his career as a professional musician he has performed with many other local orchestras and chamber ensembles as a soloist and orchestral member.   He has been the soloist on several world premieres including the Viennese oboe version of  Luciano Berio’s Sequenza VII.

     

    Groups he has performed with include the Ensemble Reconsil, Ensemble 1080, Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the Niderosterreichischen Tonkunstlerorchester, Salzburg Pro Musica Concert, Triple Tongue Vienna, the Vienna Jeunesseorchester, Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna Wind Soloists, Wiener Blasersolen and Wiener Kammerduo.  He has also appeared at music festivals such as the Bregenzer Festspiele.

     

    Recordings he has performed on include Handel: Music for the Royal Fireworks and Suite for Trumpet, Oboes & Strings by Salzburg Pro Musica Orchestra.

     

    In the field of musical education he has held several masterclasses nationally and internationally and been a teaching assistant at Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts since 2008.
