He is a percussionist who joined the BBC Symphony Orchestra when he was just 20 years old as Co-Principal Percussionist. Soon gaining acclaim as being in his field he became highly sought after and has since performed with many ensembles and orchestras including the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble (where he has curiously been referred to as Carry on occasion), the London Symphony Orchestra, the Tasliesin Orchestra and as a current member of the London Metropolitan Orchestra. He has proven many times over that he can provide accompaniment in all genres ranging from the classical masters to modern popular music and is called upon to work on many recordings as well as on many film and television scores. His recordings are numerous and far too many to mention, but they include Swing When You're Winning by Robbie Williams, Symphonic Music of Yes by Bill Bruford, Symphonic Rock: American Classics and Symphonic Rock: The British Invasion Volumes 1 and 2 with the London Symphony Orchestra, Thread of Time: The Best of Enya with the Taliesin Orchestra, Dhammapadda by John Mayer, Flaming Pie by Sir Paul McCartney, Guitar is the Song with John Williams, Here's to the Heroes with The Ten Tenors, Italia by Chris Botti, Light in Darkness and Her Greatest Hits with Evelyn Glennie, Adiemus V and New, Best & Live by Adiemus, My Way by Willard White and Eine Kleine Brass Musik, Gloria: The Sacred Music of John Rutter and Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition by the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble.
