He is a keyboardist, songwriter, composer, writer,
producer and director who was born Frank Konte in Oklahoma.
His professional career from his twenties saw him as a
member of Blue Chip Stock from Anchorage, Alaska, from 1966 to 1968. This was followed by the Florida
group The Blues Image who were based in New York and then Los Angeles from
1968 to 1971 when they disbanded.
His songwriting was responsible for their hit record “Ride,
Captain, Ride”.
A couple of years later in 1973 he was called on to
become the second keyboard player for the successful group Three Dog Night
where he was dubbed “The Wizard”. He remained with them for around
three years appearing on several hit records and albums and after leaving
he ventured out in a career as a record producer, producing several
Christian music albums among others.
