He is an English baritone who sang in the choir of the
thousand year old church in Sussex,
a child.Before he left school
he had attained the posts of choir master and organist.He studied music at the University
of York and sang countertenor
in the choir of York Minster.He moved to London and
as a baritone he worked with choirs including the BBC Singers and St.
Paul's Cathedral.He joined the choir of Salisbury
Cathedral in 1982, and was a schoolteacher and buyer and seller of used
music in Salisbury for over 10
years before joining the King's Singers in replacement of Simon
Carrington in 1993.
