     Ledbetter, Victor

    He is a baritone singer, active in the industry for at least 3 decades, who has performed internationally as a choral singer and assumed many roles in operatic productions. 

     

    Known throughout the world he has been heard with orchestras and ensembles that include the Atlantia Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, the Boston Symphony, the Dutch Radio Orchestra, the Houston Sympony, the National Symphony, the Orchestra of St. Lukes, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Robert Shaw Chamber Singers, the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony and many more. 

     

    In the opera he has assumed many roles in productions such as Don Pasquale, Falstaff, Faust, La Boheme, La Traviata, Madame Butterfly and Le Nozze di Figaro and also sang in the Chinese premiere of Tosca that was staged in Shanghai in 1988.  Other productions he has performed in include Belshazzar’s Feast by William Walton, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Handel’s Messiah, Harmoniemesse by Haydn, Lyrische Symphonie by Zemlinsky and The Wound-dresser by John Adams. 

     

    No stranger to the recording studio he has featured on many albums such as the Grammy nominated Messiah by the Boston Baroque, Szymanowksi & Poulenc: Stabat Maters and Rachmaninov: The Bells by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, Tobias Picker: Emmeline by the Santa Fe Opera, Songs of Angels: Christmas Hymns & Carols by the Robert Shaw Chamber Singers and the compilations Best Loved Christmas Carols and The Best of Rachmaninoff.
