She is a violist who started learning music when she
was seven years old and went on to study as a specialist musician at Wells
Cathedral School when she was thirteen. She then obtained degrees from Eastman School and Yale
University.
She was a member of the Yale Quartet in Residency during
the time she was a student there and her education continued when she participated
in countless international music festivals on a fellowship.
Her professional career, mainly in the Philadelphia area
since graduation, has seen her performing with many orchestras and
ensembles that include Akron Symphony, The Network of New Music Ensemble, New
Haven Symphony, New England String Quartet, Orchestra New England, Opera
Company of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Orchestra, The Santa Fe Opera and
Saratoga Festival. Recently
she has held the post of Principal Viola of the Chamber Orchestra of
Philadelphia, who she joined in 1996, and Orchestra 2001.
Alongside her concert performances she is also a
successful freelance studio musician for Larry Gold Studios and has
appeared on many recordings.
The albums which she appears on include Trouble with Love Is
by Kelly Clarkson, Love Story by Vivian Green, Magnificent by
DJ Jazzy Jeff, Evolver by John Legend, Exit 13 by LL Cool J, Year
of the Gentleman by Ne-Yo, Home by Seven, Graduation by
Kanye West and The String Quartet Tribute to John Lennon.
